It begins with a plan.

We start every client relationship with a meeting to understand their individual goals and concerns, not only today but for the long haul. Many families find this discovery process highly valuable as they ascertain what is important to them and what they hope to be able to fund in the future. Our objective is to understand a client’s full financial picture — assets, debt, income and obligations — and our goal is to ensure they reach their goals.

A customized investment strategy is developed.

The financial plan drives the creation of a customized investment strategy for each client. Rather than using rules of thumb or generic formulas for asset allocation, we determine the appropriate risk and return for a client to reach their goals. We then employ strategies used by large institutions such as endowments and foundations in the construction portfolio to maximize the potential investment return at the appropriate level of risk.

The conversation continues.

Constant communication is an important element of our client relationships. On an ongoing basis, we review with clients the activity in their accounts and their overall financial lives. In addition, we periodically revisit their goals and objectives to ensure we are on track. This communication enables us to provide outstanding service, and it helps us quickly respond if there is a major change in a client’s financial position.
